Saint Germain fue el nombre por el que se conoció a un misterioso personaje europeo del siglo XVIII, cuya identidad, origen y fecha de nacimiento nunca han sido establecidos con certeza. Se cree que apareció en diferentes cortes europeas durante la década de 1740 y destacó por sus conocimientos de idiomas, música, arte y alquimia. También afirmó poseer conocimientos extraordinarios sobre la historia y las ciencias.

Saint Germain fue recibido en importantes círculos aristocráticos y mantuvo relaciones con personajes de la nobleza europea. Uno de los episodios más conocidos de su vida ocurrió en la corte de Luis XV de Francia, donde fue presentado como un hombre de gran cultura y habilidades excepcionales. Debido a su comportamiento reservado y a las historias que circulaban sobre él, surgieron numerosas leyendas acerca de su supuesta inmortalidad.

La fecha y el lugar de su muerte tampoco están completamente documentados. Tradicionalmente se afirma que murió en Eckernförde, Alemania, en 1784, aunque posteriormente aparecieron relatos de personas que aseguraban haberlo visto con vida.

Con el paso del tiempo, Saint Germain se convirtió en una figura importante del esoterismo y el ocultismo. En movimientos espirituales posteriores fue presentado como un maestro ascendido relacionado con la llamada “Llama Violeta” y con la enseñanza del “Yo Soy”.
