Daniel Wallace is an American writer and illustrator born in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1959. He is known for his novel "Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions" (1998), adapted into a film by Tim Burton in 2003. His other works include "Ray in Reverse" (2000), "The Watermelon King" (2003), and "Mr. Sebastian and the Negro Magician" (2007). His stories and essays have been published in various magazines and anthologies, and his novels have been translated into more than 18 languages.

In addition to his work in fiction, Wallace has made significant contributions to the "Star Wars" universe with books like "Star Wars: The New Essential Guide to Characters" (2002) and "Star Wars: The New Essential Guide to Droids" (2006). His work "Star Wars: The Book of the Sith" (2012) offers a deep insight into the dark side of the Force. These works belong to the science fiction genre and have been well received by fans of the saga.
