Malorie Blackman
Malorie Blackman (Clapham, United Kingdom, 1962) is a renowned British writer and screenwriter specialized in young adult literature, famous for addressing complex social issues such as racism and inequality. Her most iconic work is the Noughts & Crosses series (Pares y Nones), a literary reference adapted by HBO in 2020. She has published over sixty books, including Pig-Heart Boy and Cloud Busting, and was the first black screenwriter to write for the Doctor Who series. Blackman has received more than fifteen awards, including the Eleanor Farjeon Award and the PEN Pinter Prize, and was the Children’s Laureate of the United Kingdom (2013-2015). Her works, translated into numerous languages, continue to inspire readers around the world.
