Eduardo Bechara Navratilova
Eduardo Bechara Navratilova, born in Bogotá in 1972, is a prominent Colombian writer of Lebanese and Czech descent. He studied Law and Literature at the Universidad de los Andes and earned a Master's in Creative Writing at Temple University, Philadelphia, where he also taught in 2009 and 2010. His work spans genres such as novels, poetry, and chronicles.
Among his novels are La novia del torero (2002), Unos duermen, otros no (2006), and El juego de María (2015). In poetry, he has published Poemas a una ciudad, un insecto y una mujer (2010), Paracaidistas de Checoslovaquia (2019), and Las prisas de la ruina (2021). He is also the author of the chronicle book Mendigo por un día (2012). In 2016, he was awarded the Andrés Bello Prize for his complete narrative work. Additionally, since 2013 he leads the project En busca de poetas, traveling across South America to document published and unpublished poets.
