Armin Alfonso Soler
(Havana, 1985) Holds a master's degree in creative writing (International University of La Rioja, Spain) and has diplomas in children's and young adult literature (Metropolitan University, Venezuela, and Letra Viva Foundation, Colombia), as well as certification in reading promotion (Catholic University, Puerto Rico). He is a member of Girándula, Ecuadorian Association of Children's and Youth Books, and Hilo Colectivo (United States). He is the host and co-writer of two children's programs for National Radio Ecuador and Cultura FM, as well as a mediator of the Selva de Libros space, where he conducts literary creation workshops.

He has published the storybooks Monsters of the Field and the City and Scent of Herbs, and the poetry book The Cuckoo Sings the… His stories and poems are included in various anthologies. He has anthologized, adapted, and edited books of narrative and poetry for children and youth, and written several textbooks for the Ecuadorian educational system at different teaching levels.

In 2018, he won the national Darío Guevara award (Ecuador), in the children's story category, and has been recognized on several occasions among the distinguished authors of IBBY-Ecuador. This novel is part of the IBBY International Honor List 2022.
