Laurence Rees (born in 1957) is a British historian, documentary filmmaker, and author of books on the atrocities committed by totalitarian states during World War II. He has been a producer and creative director at the BBC for history programs and documentary series. His works are popularly used as educational material in British schools

His works have received several awards, including a BAFTA, two International Documentary, a British Book, and two Emmys.
