Synopsis "Where the World Grows Thin"

Specialist Devin Malone's first command was supposed to be a simple mission: deliver archaeologist Dr. Michael Asher to a mysterious dig site somewhere deep in the Iraqi desert. But missions often don't go as planned. Risking helicopter transit during a G 4 solar event and an intense sandstorm, something goes terribly wrong. After a bout of violent turbulence and an engine failure, the sandstorm turns to a maelstrom of sleet and rain. They descend from the canopy of thick clouds to discover the desert gone, replaced by expanses of forest and savannah. Low on fuel, they're forced to set down. A brutal attack in the night turns their hope of getting home into a desperate fight for survival. Malone and Dr. Asher find themselves in the middle of a tribal war between primitive humans and Neanderthals but a new threat looms in the darkness. From the depths of the primal forest emerges something not found in any archeological records, something bent on destroying them all.
