The branch of Ayurveda which deals with the pharmaceutical preparation of Rasaushdhis is known as Rasa-Shastra (Alchemy). Rasa-Chikitsa was considered to be the most effective and time saving therapy. The preparations used under Rasa-Chikitsa being palatable, be preferred over other formulations for oral administration.
