María Carmen de la Bandera, born in El Burgo (Málaga) in 1935, is a Spanish writer and teacher specialized in children's and young adult literature. With a degree in History, she has worked as a teacher and reading promoter, which has allowed her to deeply connect with children and teenagers. Her warm and approachable style reflects her extensive teaching experience

Among her notable works are "Sentir los colores" (2011), which addresses a young person's passion for soccer, and "Íntimos secretos" (2004), which explores adolescent experiences. Her book "El héroe y la traición" was included in the CCEI Honor List. Additionally, "Mi vida en el paraíso" (2011) is the sequel to "África en el corazón", where she narrates the experiences of a young African immigrant in Spain.
