Truman Capote (1924-1984) was an American writer, journalist, and screenwriter, known for his innovative style and his ability to blend literature with journalism. His most influential work is In Cold Blood (1966), considered one of the first non-fiction novels, in which he narrates the murder of a family in Kansas.

Among his other notable works are Breakfast at Tiffany's (1958), a short novel that inspired the famous movie of the same name, and Other Voices, Other Rooms (1948), his literary debut.
