Synopsis "Transit USA: Scenes of American Transit 1977-2009"

Transit USA is a collection of personal photographs I took of urban rail lines from 1977 to 2009. This book covers my first thirty-two years of urban rail photography and has images of urban rail systems in such places as Greater New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Michigan City Indiana. In certain cases, these photographs contain images of transit lines and structures that no longer exist so in that sense they are a photographic record of our vanished urban landscape and provide a look into the not-too-distant past for future generations to come.
