Timber, Horses, Murders, and Tragedy
Garry Smith;Danny Arnold (Author) · Bookside Press · Paperback
Timber, Horses, Murders, and Tragedy is the third book in our Louisiana Sheriff Series. The Strong family's base of operations is timber and sawmills. The Strong brothers, Rick and Steve, are the third generation to manage the company. Their father, Thomas, is retired.
Rick has been considering diversifying into other businesses. The group established Strong Criminal Investigations, LLC, to represent them in investigations, particularly serial killing cases. In addition to their barrel racing horses, they bought two stallions to compete in cutting horse events-consequently, they established Strong Stables, LLC. They launched a cattle operation to provide steers and heifers for cutting horse practice.
Thomas had bought cheap timberland many years earlier, before the Toledo Bend Reservoir was built. They decided to harvest a small amount of timber and develop a lakeside residential community. The project was successful, and they later created a similar development near Chatham, Louisiana.
A disgruntled timberman, whose business partner with cartel ties had been sent to prison by Rick and Eve, led a group of men in an attack on the Strong compound. Although the attackers were repelled, tragedy still struck.
Read about the diversification of the Strong family's business, the variety of serial-killer cases, and the family tragedy.
