Synopsis "Three-Body Problem Boxed Set: (The Three-Body Problem, the Dark Forest, Death's End) "

Soon to be a Netflix Original Series! The Three-Body Problem Boxed Set contains all three volumes of Hugo Award-winning author Cixin Liu's bestselling science fiction trilogy--The Three-Body Problem, The Dark Forest, and Death's End--translated by Ken Liu. A secret military group sends signals into space in hopes of establishing contact with aliens -- and succeeds. Picking up their signal is an alien civilization on the brink of destruction who now readies to invade Earth. News of the coming invasion divides humanity like never before. Some want to help the superior beings take over a world they see as corrupt. Others prepare to fight the invasion at all cost. The Three Body Problem trilogy is a ground-breaking saga of enormous scope and vision. "The War of the Worlds for the twenty-first century . . . Packed with a sense of wonder." --The Wall Street Journal "A meditation on technology, progress, morality, extinction, and knowledge that doubles as a cosmos- in-the-balance thriller." --NPR

Cixin Liu is the most prolific and popular science fiction author of the People's Republic of China. Liu has been awarded the Galaxy Award eight times (the equivalent in his country to the Hugo Award) and the Chinese Nebula, before turning his "Three-Body Trilogy" into a work capable of selling a million copies just in China, arousing unanimous interest throughout the West, winning the 2015 Hugo Award for best novel, and earning endorsements from the likes of Barack Obama and Mark Zuckerberg

His huge success is now repeated in all international markets, thanks to fans of the genre, but also, and above all, to the millions of readers interested in current geopolitical affairs and in the past and future of China. They are all the ones who have managed to turn a perfect stranger, coming from the most mysterious and hermetic East, into one of the great literary sensations of recent years

Before becoming a writer, Liu worked as an engineer at a power plant in Yangquan, Shanxi province, now temporarily closed due to air pollution
