Synopsis "The [PreNote]"

Navi S. Mbakop is a debut poet exploring the everyday as a mirror for the interior life. In The [PreNote], his first published collection, ordinary objects — a chessboard, a fireplace mantel, a tower, an old family mirror — become vessels for bigger questions about identity, home, ambition, and faith. Structured across the hours of a single day, the collection moves from the restlessness of youth to the quiet resolve of looking back, always returning to gratitude: for family, for growth, and for the God he credits with keeping him strong. Navi writes with the belief that the most personal truths often hide in the smallest, most familiar things.
