Eckhart Tolle (Lünen, North Rhine-Westphalia, February 16, 1948) is a German spiritual guide and writer, known for titles such as The Power of Now and A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose. In 2008, a New York Times writer described him as "the most popular spiritual author in the nation", just as the Watkins Review of London did in 2011. He resides in Vancouver (Canada) with his wife, Kim Eng.
