Synopsis "The Authorities - Jason G. Chan: Powerful Wisdom from Leaders in the Field"

Jason is a Certified Life Coach who specializes in finance and investments. With over 10 years investment experience working in the investment industry at one of Canada's largest financial institutions, he has been recognized as National Top Advisor for multiple years for helping and educating others with their finances and investment portfolios. Born in Scarborough, a suburb of Toronto, Ontario, he attended the York-Sheridan Program in Design at York University and Sheridan College where he studied, psychology, philosophy, information design, visual communication, and graphic design. From the Faculty of Fine Arts, Jason earned a Bachelors of Design with Honours from the specialized program which had a curriculum that emphasized innovation, creativity and strategic thinking. After his education, Jason worked briefly as a graphic designer. Since his family had been financially stressed since his early adolescent life, Jason felt it was important to get started with a healthy habit of saving and investing. Unsure how to invest, Jason began reading financial and investment books. Eventually, he went on to study many investment industry licensing courses for his own knowledge and reference. Before long, Jason decided if he was to learn about finance and investments, he would get a better and more well-rounded experience if he worked at a financial or investment institution. He believed it would be a great opportunity to learn as well as help others along the way. At 26, Jason began his second career as an investment representative at one of Canada's largest financial institutions. He was studying to be a Financial Planner when his father suddenly passed away-two days before his exam. Jason had to visit and deal with many financial institutions such as banks and investment firms to wrap up his father's estate. Shocked and grossly appalled by the type of sales and investment advice he was receiving from supposed investment professionals and peers, Jason was so turned off by the investment industry that he did not want to be a part of it anymore and nearly quit his job.Burdened knee-deep with student loans, as well as his family, being heavily entrenched in debt, quitting was not a viable idea. However, with his confidence in the financial and investment industry disturbingly shaken, at 27, Jason decided it was important to take personal responsibility for managing his family's finances and investments. Jason adapted his visual communication and graphic arts skill set to technical analysis and applied effective hedge fund strategies towards his investments in the financial markets. Jason made his first million dollars investing in the stock market when he was just shy of 30 years of age, with his second million following shortly after.
