Synopsis "The art of war (Signature Classics) "

The Art of War by general and philosopher Sun Tzu is an influential book of strategy that has found applications in countless situations beyond the war room. More than 2,000 years old, this classic of Chinese philosophy lays out a systematic, rational approach to tactics and strategy that leaders worldwide have applied not only to the military, but also to business, law, martial arts, and sports. This edition uses Lionel Giles's classic translation. Giles's extensive annotations and commentary on Sun Tzu's aphorisms and proverbs are also included.

Sun Tzu (in simplified Chinese: 孙子, in traditional Chinese: 孫子, in pinyin: Sūnzǐ) was a general, military strategist, and philosopher from ancient China. The name by which we know him is actually an honorary title meaning "Master Sun". His birth name was Sun Wu and outside his family, he was known by his courtesy name Changqing.

Traditionally, he is considered the author of The Art of War, an influential treatise on military strategy. Sun Tzu has had a significant impact on Chinese and Asian history and culture, both for writing The Art of War and for being a legendary historical figure.
