This book is a collection of ten short stories set in Yorkshire, England. All except one were written over the past four years and are contemporary tales, dramatic in form. They include elements of the paranormal and shocking or disturbing events that can occur in the life of ordinary people. All stem from the Yorkshire-born writer's imagination. Alongside murder and betrayal there is poignancy and at least one story of a humorous nature. It concerns a meeting between a polar bear and a penguin on the summit of Pen-y-Ghent.
