DUBU, pseudonym of Jang Sung-rak, was a prominent South Korean illustrator and CEO of Redice Studio. He is widely recognized for his work as the main artist of the webtoon Solo Leveling (2018–2021), an adaptation of the novel by Chugong. The series, published on KakaoPage and compiled by D&C Media, became a global phenomenon, noted for its vibrant art and dynamic narrative. DUBU also participated in other projects, such as The Island of Giant Insects (2014–2018), and his studio has worked on titles like Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint and Tomb Raider King.

DUBU's style falls within the action and fantasy genre, characterized by detailed illustrations and striking combat scenes. Although he did not receive internationally renowned literary awards, his influence in the manhwa industry is undeniable. Sadly, DUBU passed away in July 2022 due to a cerebral hemorrhage. His legacy endures through the works he illustrated and the impact he had on the global expansion of manhwa.
