Synopsis "Sai Baba von Shirdi: Sein Leben und Seine Lehre (in German)"

Sai Baba von Shirdi (ca. 1841-1918) wird in ganz Indien als gro er Heiliger verehrt, ist im Westen jedoch nahezu unbekannt. Er lebte als muslimischer Fakir in einer baufälligen Moschee im Dorf Shirdi nahe Bombay (Mumbai) und verband den Hinduismus mit dem Islam. Sein Verhalten war manchmal schroff, manchmal liebenswürdig und immer unvorhersehbar. Er bat stets um Geld, nicht um sich zu bereichern, sondern um es wieder zu verteilen. Wie viele andere Dinge besa es für ihn eine symbolische Bedeutung. Bekannt wurde er v.a. durch die vielen Wunder, die er in aller Selbstverständlichkeit wirkte, aber stets Gott zuschrieb. Er wurde als Guru betrachtet und verehrt. Er lehrte auf sehr praktische Weise Gottesliebe und Selbstergründung und gab Rat in weltlichen und spirituellen Angelegenheiten.
