Colson Whitehead (Nueva York, 1969) es un escritor estadounidense reconocido por una obra narrativa que combina experimentación literaria, reconstrucción histórica y crítica social. Graduado de la Universidad de Harvard, comenzó su carrera profesional trabajando en el semanario The Village Voice, donde escribió sobre cultura, literatura y televisión. Su literatura aborda especialmente el racismo, las desigualdades y la experiencia afroamericana en Estados Unidos. Es uno de los pocos escritores que han ganado dos veces el Premio Pulitzer de Ficción, gracias a El ferrocarril subterráneo (2016) y Los chicos de la Nickel (2019).
