The Reina Valera is one of the most frequently used Spanish translations of the Bible among Spanish-speaking Protestants. The current Reina Valera is the result of a series of revisions made by the United Bible Societies on one of the earliest Spanish translations of the Bible. The Reina Valera was widely disseminated during the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century.

Having been for just over 4 centuries the only Bible used within the Spanish-speaking Protestant church. Today, the Reina Valera, with several revisions over the years (1862,1909,1960,1995,2011), is one of the most used Bibles by a large part of the Christian churches derived from the Protestant Reformation.
