Synopsis "Romancero Gitano. Poesia: Poeta En Nueva York (in Spanish)"

Nueva York, para Lorca, es un simbolo de miopia espiritual donde el hombre no puede manejarse con la enfermedad del cuerpo y del alma. New York, according to Lorca, is the symbol of spiritual shortsightedness, where men cannot handle themselves under normal body and soul sickness conventions.

Federico García Lorca (Fuentevaqueros, Granada, June 5, 1898 – near Víznar, Granada, August 18, 1936) was a Spanish poet and playwright from the Generation of '27, considered one of the most influential figures in Hispanic literature. Among his most notable works are Poet in New York, Blood Wedding, Yerma, and The House of Bernarda Alba. His legacy, cut short by his assassination at the start of the Civil War, blends modernism, avant-garde, and tradition, and consecrates him as the most read Spanish poet of the 20th century.
