Fujita is a Japanese mangaka born in Hyōgo Prefecture. After graduating from the Osaka General Design College of Manga, she moved to Tokyo in 2012 to present her works to publishers. Her career took off with Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (2014), internationally known as Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku. Initially published on Pixiv, the series was serialized by Ichijinsha and compiled into 11 volumes until 2021.

Wotakoi became an international success, adapted into an anime by A-1 Pictures in 2018 and licensed in Spanish by ECC Ediciones. In 2017, it won the Kōdansha Award for best web manga. In 2023, Fujita released Villain, a manga based on the homonymous Vocaloid song, exploring themes of identity and gender dysphoria. Her style combines romantic comedy and slice of life, with a fresh and empathetic approach to otaku culture.
