Chris Claremont (London, November 25, 1950) is an American comic book writer and novelist, known for his influential work on Marvel Comics' "Uncanny X-Men" series. During his 16-year tenure (1975-1991), he transformed the series into one of the best-selling globally. Claremont is renowned for developing strong female characters and introducing complex literary themes into superhero narratives

Among his most notable works are "The Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past" (1981), genre: superhero comic, and "The New Mutants: The Demon Bear Saga" (1984), genre: superhero comic. Throughout his career, Claremont has received multiple awards, including the Inkpot Award in 1980 and his induction into the Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2015.
