The original shorin ryu forms are shown as learned from the U. S. Chief Instructor Jerry Gould since 1970. The Soobahkdo/Tangsoodo versions that relate more closely to the modern forms as learned through research with many instructors in both Asia and America, the ITF forms of General Choi as learned since 1972 from Charles Kheriaty, the Palgwe and Taeguek forms as learned from kukkiwon masters Ji Dong Ju on Guam, Yun Hak Tok in Seattle, Dr. Kwon in Chicago and Jo Jae Oh from the Kukkiwon. Nicholls has earned ninth dan certificates from the Jidokwan, the U. S. National Taekwondo Federation, the World Taekwondo Council has advanced black belt degrees in several other martial arts.
