Nunca se fueron, pero hoy crece su presencia: la ultraderecha y un remozado neofascismo se hallan presentes a nivel mundial tanto en diversos gobiernos como en fuerzas emergentes allí donde no gobiernan. En nombre de la “libertad”, “la sociedad abierta” y otros eslóganes que en realidad sirven básicamente para ocultar la ideología de la clase dominante, pretenden recortar derechos y libertades, y disfrazan las crisis recurrentes del capitalismo hegemónico impidiendo cualquier cambio significativo del sistema. La respuesta capitalista a sus crisis sistémicas incluye un permanente combate contra la fuerzas y organizaciones populares, y la descalificación de cualquier teoría económica que cuestione o relativice los dogmas económicos del capitalismo contemporáneo. Y para ello, este capitalismo desaforado de hoy, en el que crecen las fuerzas de la derecha extrema, se asienta en la doctrina económica defendida por la corriente conocida como “escuela austríaca”, de la que Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk, Ludwig von Mises y Friedrich von Hayekhan sido los adalides, con el monetarista Milton Friedman y el disparatado Murray Newton Rothbard como complemento. La “escuela austríaca” constituye una propuesta furiosamente antisocialista y anticomunista que aquí Néstor Kohan desenmascara y fustiga, poniendo al desnudo su pobreza intelectual y su sectarismo.
