Synopsis "Not Frog Snot"

Not Frog Snot tells the story of a medieval farm boy, Algernon, who who lives a lonely life because his health forces him to keep many foods out of his diet. Algernon surprises everyone, however, after his special diet gives him a unique chance to play a big part in the history of his homeland. From the back cover: Long ago, in the far away land of Prod, a young boy, Algernon, worked hard to help his parents on the family farm. The only problem was that he couldn't eat what they raised. As a matter of fact, what they raised was so widely used in Proddish cooking that Algernon couldn't eat much of anything. This made it hard for him to make friends, and cut him off from his parents' line of work. Looking for some kind of future for their son, his parents got him a job as a page in hopes that one day he might become one of the knights of Prod. Even that wasn't going so well, and it was looking like Algernon wouldn't amount to much. At the same time, though, the wheels of Proddish history were turning. Algernon was only one person among the many people in the many ages of the history of Prod. However, with the encouragement of his parents, the help of an old witch and a grouchy knight, and a little courage, he might just turn out to be more than just a snotter.
