Im Sommer 2015 erinnerten sich Deutsche daran, dass Deutsche nach 1933 in neue Heimaten aufbrechen mussten. Auch trat zutage, dass ältere Deutsche kollektive Erinnerungen noch einmal erlebten: die Erinnerung daran, am Ende des Krieges mit 12 Millionen weiteren selbst als Flüchtling　unterwegs gewesen zu sein. Dennoch　schlug das helle Sommermärchen von 2015 in Deutschland und in Österreich sehr schnell in schwarze Prophetien um. Der Band präsentiert literarische, ökonomische und soziale Aspekte der Migration. Die Herausgeberinnen sind überzeugt, dass der analytische Blick auf die verschiedensten historisch-politischen Konstellationen, seien diese literarisiert oder faktologisch, helfen wird, die jüngsten Probleme und Erfahrungen in einem schärferen Licht zu sehen. Sie setzen damit gegenwärtiger Aufgeregtheit eine Spannungsbewältigung durch geschichtliche Bildung entgegen.
