Looking back at her life, and through building a strong relationship with God, Michelle describes not only what happened to her, but how the abuse that she suffered and the society in which she was raised, had a dramatic impact on her own life and feelings of self-worth. She also reveals the healing power that she found in her relationship with God and is hopeful that telling her story will help others. From a young age, Michelle struggled with accepting the idea that women should quietly suffer whatever abuses men chose to inflict, and that arguing or asserting oneself was not ladylike. She describes the rules under which she lived much of her early life, and the effects that this had on her ability to communicate and advocate for herself, her children, and others. Through the healing power of God, she has discovered a path to strength and confidence that she relies on to improve her life - and the lives of others - every day. Michelle hopes her story will empower others, who feel hopeless and helpless in the face of abuse, to find a path to happiness and confidence through faith. She has founded One Life One Heart International, a non-profit organization dedicated to education and support of individuals suffering from or attempting to recover from sexual abuse at any age. All proceeds from the sale of this book go to help fund One Life One Heart International.
