The interdisciplinary nature of the collection and its chronological range facilitate a nuanced re-examination of shifting attitudes to individual artistic creativity across the medieval period and into the early modern. German description: Die Beitrage des vorliegenden Tagungsbandes untersuchen die mittelalterliche Wahrnehmung der Rolle der menschlichen Kreativitat und des Wesens des Schopfungsaktes. An Hand ausgewahlter Beispiele aus den Bereichen Literatur, bildende Kunst, Musik und Philosophie und verschiedenen abendlandischen Traditionen haben sich die Teilnehmer damit auseinandergesetzt, wie die mittelalterlichen Handwerker, Autoren, Kunstler und Komponisten ihre Tatigkeit in Beziehung zu vorangegangenen Meistern und in Beziehung zum ultimativen Schopfer, Gott verstanden.
