Quino was born in Mendoza (Argentina, 1932-2020). He was an Argentine cartoonist and comic artist, globally known for creating Mafalda, the critical, intelligent, and world-committed girl who became a Spanish-speaking cultural icon. From a young age, he showed talent for drawing and, after leaving the School of Fine Arts, he fully dedicated himself to graphic humor. He published in numerous media and gained international recognition for his ironic and sensitive view of society, politics, and human beings. His most famous work, Mafalda, was published between 1964 and 1973, and has been translated into more than 30 languages. Additionally, Quino created dozens of graphic humor books like ¡A mí no me grite!, Gente en su sitio, or Bien, gracias, ¿y usted?. He received awards such as the Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities in 2014, recognizing his immense contribution to critical thinking and universal humor.
