La novela es de un interesantísimo riesgo: por la forma como caracteriza, por la forma como narra, y por la manera como aborda desde lo sobrenatural unos problemas sociales de gran factura. Así mismo, la obra está llena de pasajes muy bellos que crean la sensación de acompañar, con gusto, la vida de las protagonistas. En ese sentido, se articulan muy bien la propuesta estética (lenguaje y estructura) con el tema y la trama. Es una novela que va poniendo elementos y desarrollándolos poco a poco, consciente de que llegará el momento en que todo se entienda. Su lenguaje crea una atmósfera poética, a pesar del realismo que subyace bajo la ficción.
