La aventura de Gulliver en el país de Liliput, donde los habitantes son poco más grandes de tamaño que un dedal, lo que lo convierte en un temible gigante, ha alcanzado popularidad universal. El poder, la arbitrariedad, la guerra y la capacidad de coexistencia de los pueblos se convierten en el objetivo de sus ácidos comentarios. Algo parecido a lo que sucede en el país de los gigantes, donde Gulliver es un enano. Y en la mejor tradición utópica, Swift termina el libro con el viaje al país de los houyhnhnms, caballos inteligentes que son capaces de construir una sociedad en armonía y justicia.

Antonio Rivero Taravillo is the author of seven books of poems, three travel books, and several more on essays and criticism. He has translated the most important poets in the English language, such as W. B. Yeats, whose Collected Poems he published with extraordinary success in 2010. A specialist in Irish literature, he has translated numerous books by authors from the island, including the anthology Ancient Irish Poems (2002). His biographies of Cernuda and Cirlot have earned him the Comillas and Antonio Domínguez Ortiz awards, respectively. He has also received the Andalusian Award for Literary Translation Rafael Cansinos Assens and the Seville Book Fair Award. He directs the magazine Estación Poesía. In his novel The Forgotten Bones (2014), published by the same publisher, Rivero Taravillo recreated an episode of the visit of Octavio Paz and Elena Garro to Spain in 1937.
