Su primera novela, Los seis días del Cóndor, se convirtió en un best seller y pronto fue adaptada a la pantalla grande por el director Sydney Pollack. Ha recibido premios como el Grand Prix du Roman Noir por su trabajo en el genero de la novela negra. Sus novelas mas recientes son Last Days of the Condor y Nest Day of the Condor.
