Tres años después de jurar como presidente de Venezuela, Hugo Chávez es depuesto por un golpe militar, acusado de querer implantar una dictadura comunista. Jaime Bayly Letts (Lima, February 19, 1965) is a writer, television host, and journalist from Peru, naturalized American, based in Miami

His television career began in 1983, as an interviewer of celebrities and politicians. He was recognized for his characteristic irreverent and incisive style influenced by that of Truman Capote. He quickly gained fame for his young age and his conservative stance on Peruvian political issues. Bayly has won the Emmy award three times for his work on various American television networks. He became known as a writer in 1994; he has published a series of hedonistic and almost documentary-style novels (with which critics have a contradictory relationship). Two of them have been used as the basis for international films.

El libro, en su contenido, es excelente. Sin embargo, la edición del mismo dejó mucho que desear. Al principio, pensé que la editorial había cambiado su formato (libro sin las típicas hojas rojas, sin suficiente calidad en su portada). Pero luego, en la Feria del Libro de Madrid, vi la edición tradicional de Galaxia Gutemberg y confirmé mi decepción.
