Synopsis "La Antipoesía de Nicanor Parra"

Ninguno de los ensayos de este libro ofrece una lectura exclusivamente textual de la antipoesia. Junto con el análisis textual ellos trabajan también (en proporción diversa en cada caso) con la biografía de Parra y con juicios suyos sobre su poesía, la de otros y sobre temas culturales diversos. Estos campos, el día de la textualidad poética y el de la biografía del autor, son, en si mismos y como conceptos, claramente irreductibles en la teoría contemporánea. Sin embargo, si se opera desde la conciencia de su diferencia, no son excluyentes para las prácticas de construcción de lecturas. Recordémoslo aquí: el campo de la textualidad es el del autor. Los malentendidos se producen cuando asumimos literalmente, de modo acrítico el uso del lenguaje cotidiano, donde con el mismo nombre, “Nicanor Parra”, nos referimos tanto al autor de la antipoesía como al sujeto biográfico, es decir, al nombre propio, el de ese sujeto que acaba de cumplir 100 años.

Leonidas Morales Toro (1938–2019) was a distinguished Chilean philosopher and literary figure, known for his profound contribution to the study of Chilean and Latin American literature. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Humanities with a specialization in Letters (1956), obtained a degree as a Spanish Teacher (1962), and earned a PhD in Philosophy with a specialization in General Literature at the University of Chile (1982).

Starting in 1964, he served as a professor at the Universidad Austral de Chile, where he taught Aesthetics and Modern Spanish Literature. Between 1976 and 1981, due to the military dictatorship, he lived in Venezuela, where he was a professor at the University of Los Andes, teaching courses in Literary Theory, Spanish Morphosyntax, and Latin American Literature.

In 1992, he returned to Chile and joined the Department of Literature at the University of Chile, where he continued his academic work until his death in 2019. His work covered various genres and authors, including Nicanor Parra, Violeta Parra, José Donoso, Diamela Eltit, Luis Oyarzún, and Pablo Neruda.

Among his most notable publications are La poesía de Nicanor Parra (1972), Conversaciones con Nicanor Parra (1991), La escritura de al lado. Géneros referenciales (2001), and De muertos y sobrevivientes. Narración chilena moderna (2008). His legacy endures in the Chilean academic and literary fields.
