Kultur als Selbstzweck ist der einzige Garten Eden, der jedermann offensteht. Auch und gerade Kunst anti-idyllischen Gehalts stellt oft schon kraft ihrer ästhetischen Form in sich stimmige Kultur-Idyllen dar - wie jedes Symbol, das Realitätselemente aus Gesamteindrücken heraushebt und ohne Agit-prop originell neu konstelliert. Die reine Bildungs- und Kontemplationsidylle, die nichts als kosmische Ordnungen betrachtet, war vermutlich immer selbst schon jene Sozialutopie, von der sie historisch meist nur begraben wird. Das Buch sucht den antiken "Bios theoretikos" zu rehabilitieren und die vita contemplativa gegen allen sozialtechnisch pragmatischen Weltaktionismus zu verteidigen. Das Idyllische als infantile Regression auf narzi tische Phantasien früher Mutter-Kind-Symbiosen steht gegen das utopische "Prinzip Vater", das als monotheistische Idee vom herrschenden Zeitgeist seit langem bekämpft und desavouiert wird. (Das Patriarchat ist der wahre Feminismus, weil es dumme Jungen für wahre Frauen allein erwachsen machen kann.)
