Obwohl er als Bauingenieur vorwiegend im Bereich des Hochbaus tätig war, oft im Schatten der ihn beiziehenden Architekten, tritt seine eigene Handschrift bei diesen Bauten deutlich zu Tage. In seinem Privatinstitut entstand ein eigenes Modellversuchslaboratorium in dem er neuartige Messgeräte bis hin zu kompletten computergesteuerten Versuchs- und Berechnungssystemen, wie die weltweit beachtete "Hybridstatik", entwickelte.
