Guy Parker-Rees (born in 1959 in Zimbabwe) is a British illustrator and children's book writer, known for his vibrant and expressive style. He moved to England at the age of three and studied Literature and Philosophy at the University of York. Before dedicating himself to illustration, he worked as a mural painter, art teacher, and art therapist at a social services center.

Since 1989, Parker-Rees has illustrated more than 40 books, notably Giraffes Can’t Dance (1999), written by Giles Andreae, which has become an international bestseller with over 4 million copies sold. Other notable works include Spookyrumpus, winner of awards such as the Sheffield Book Award, and Elephant Me, published by Little Tiger Press.

His style is characterized by illustrations full of color, humor, and dynamism, influenced by artists like Dr. Seuss, Quentin Blake, and Tony Ross. Parker-Rees resides in Brighton with his wife and three children, and continues to be an influential figure in contemporary children's literature.
