Inspired by actual events, Harris shares the story of her grandmother, Iva Mae Noland, a young waitress who falls in love with a womanizing rich Englishman. Together with his wealthy parents, he ensnares her in a web of lies. When women's rights were limited, her grandmother gained national attention for her remarkable courage and for challenging the norms of her time.
