Hier liegen erstmals in deutscher Übersetzung und Kommentierung Fragmente zu Rhetorik, Poetik und Literaturwissenschaft vor. Von besonderem Interesse sind die Reste verlorener Dialoge in der literarischen Tradition Platons, einige davon lassen sich in Aufbau und Inhalt noch rekonstruieren; sie sind Zeugnisse der lebendigen Auseinandersetzung in der Platonischen Akademie und prägten das Aristoteles-Bild im Hellenismus, als die sog. Lehrschriften nicht in vollem Umfang zugänglich waren. Die zahlreichen Fragmente zur Erklärung der Epen Homers schließlich zeigen Aristoteles als Exegeten der Dichtung und Vorläufer der Alexandrinischen Homer-Philologie. Auch von den Gedichten des Aristoteles erhält man ein lebendiges Bild.
