Synopsis "Fowl Play: There's something funny going on at the farm..."

The story of this play takes place in the summer of 1964, deep in the back hill country of the Ozarks out on Cherry Creek Ridge. There lived the family of a proud, but lazy dirt farmer named Roscoe Wingate. Roscoe and his family were content living off the land and raising a few chickens now and then. Most days were spent day dreaming or looking for ways to avoid using too much energy. Life was good for Roscoe and his family until a trip into town to sell some chickens, started a chain of events that brought more excitement and change into their world than they ever dreamed possible. Their simple lives are turned upside down when novice con artists attempt to make "fowl play" of the Wingate plans, only to later have second thoughts when threatened by an unseen force. In the end Roscoe and his family learn the reason for the changes in their lives and embrace the new path they have been put on. "Gee Haw!"
