(Madrid 1926 - Pamplona 2013) graduated in Law (1949); later he completed a degree and a PhD in Philosophy. He joined the University of Navarra in 1954. He obtained the chair of Foundations of Philosophy at the University of Granada in 1966, which he held for two years. He spent the rest of his academic life in Navarra, except for the summers, when he taught undergraduate and doctoral courses at universities in Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Chile, etc. He held various positions, such as director of studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, director of the Department of History of Philosophy, director of the doctoral program in Philosophy, etc. Doctor Honoris causa from the University of Piura (Peru). The Government of Navarra awarded him in 2008 the Cross of Carlos III the Noble in recognition of his philosophical work with undergraduate and doctoral students, from various careers and universities.
His philosophical depth and originality are reflected in the high number of publications, books and articles, doctoral theses, etc., on his thought; on his philosophical doctrine, the journal Studia Poliana has also been published in Pamplona since 1998; in Malaga, online, Miscelánea Poliana and since December 2014 Journal of Polian Studies (South Bend, USA).
