Für Klein- und Kleinstbauern wurde eine motorbetriebene halbautomatische Strohballenpresse entwickelt, mit der eine Person in zwei Tagen eine Tonne Reisstroh zu Ballen pressen kann. Die Kompressionsrate betrug etwa das Sechsfache, was bedeutet, dass durch die Verdichtung zu Ballen bis zu sechsmal weniger Lager- und Transportraum benötigt wurde und die Kosten um das Sechsfache gesenkt werden konnten. Die maximale Ballenpresskapazität und Ballendichte betrugen 60,97 kg/h und 129 kg/m3. Die Kosten für die Ballenbildung beliefen sich auf 800 Rupien pro Tonne.
