Drum Songs. A cantata for SSA and piano - Lin Marsh

Drum Songs is a cantata for SSA and piano, written by Lin Marsh and commissioned by the City of Bristol Girls' Choir and The Rhythm Project. The lyrics are based on heartbeat, work movement and physical response - in other words, the rhythm of life itself.

Ranging from the energetic The drum stirs and lyrical Lullaby to the catchy The voice of the world, this collection of four themed songs is based on the rhythm of life.  Written in three parts for girl's voices, Drum Songs makes an ideal concert piece, with scope for the addition of percussion.

The Spotlight Series represents a variety of imaginative repertoire for stage or concert performance, from Key Stage 1 to 3.  Some of the cantatas provide scope for creativity through the addition of movement, whilst others are fully contained 'mini-musicals'.  Written appropriately for the age group by experienced educational composers, here are songs and shows to suit all abilities and ages.
