Synopsis "Do Volunteer. The future is local. And it starts with you."

This book is about volunteering. But not as you know it.

Rigid schedules, energy-draining commitments, painting park benches, volunteering doesn’t exactly sell itself. But the need for support amongst charities and grassroots organisations has never been greater.

Toni Finnimore, founder of The Social Society, shows us that it can, and should, be about sharing skills where there is a genuine need. Known as "micro-volunteering", these are simple, joyful, local acts that make a real difference. In Do Volunteer, you will:

Discover skills you never knew you hadMatch with local people and hubs that need your helpFind purpose, belonging and communityRefresh your company’s approach to volunteeringDo Volunteer is a call to action for anyone – graduates, those in or out of work, retirees, businesses of all sizes – who wants to give back but feels too busy, unsure or underqualified. You don’t need permission or a 6-month plan. And guess what? It can feel great too.
