Hiroaki Samura is a renowned Japanese mangaka, known for his detailed artistic style and focus on mature, complex narratives. He was born in 1970 in Japan and began his career as a mangaka in the 90s. His most famous work is Blade of the Immortal (1993-2012), an action and samurai manga that combines historical drama with the supernatural. This manga earned him international recognition and was adapted into a movie in 2017.

Samura has also worked on other projects such as Ohikkoshi (1994) and The Ninja (2009), exploring various genres, from drama to comedy.
