Von den einst an Zahl und Einfluss reichen Kollegiatkapiteln im deutschen Sprachraum haben nur wenige bis in die Gegenwart hinein überlebt. Diese Publikation will dazu beitragen, die rechtliche Eigenart, Vielfalt und Bedeutung jener Institution wieder einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit bekannt zu machen. Dazu werden die Statuten aller im deutschen Sprachraum derzeit sowohl rechtlich als auch faktisch bestehenden Kollegiatkapitel erstmals gemeinsam dokumentiert und der einschlägigen Rechtslage des Codex Iuris Canonici von 1983 gegenübergestellt.
