Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Mediengeschichte, Note: 1,3, Universität Erfurt, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Deutschland besitzt im Hinblick auf das bildtextuelle Medium "Comic" eine spezielle Geschichte. Obwohl Comics und insbesondere Manga heute ein kommerziell bedeutsames Segment des deutschen Buchmarktes sind und schon Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts einige kommerziell erfolgreiche "Bildergeschichten" von deutschen Autoren distributiert wurden, so stand Deutschland - in Ost und West - dem Comic als Medium bis in die späten 1990er-Jahre eher kritisch gegenüber. Über die Lektüre dieser Literaturform existierten zahlreiche Vorurteile, den LeserInnen wurden zumeist Bildungsferne unterstellt. In den 1950er- und 1960er-Jahren kummulierten diese Vorurteile, was in der DDR und der BRD jeweils spezifisch von statten ging. Handelte es sich dabei um eine Moral Panic nach Cohen (1972)?
